MY TOP 10 POSTS OF 2021 BASED ON VIEWS

Hi my lovely readers!

Last week I reviewed my blogging activity from last year to see what posts did well and which didn’t. Overall I can say my blog improved. Year after year I’m able to reach more people, which makes me happy.

I enjoyed this revision as I want to see what did well and what you guys like reading about. If there is any particular topic or destination that you would like to read more about, please do let me know.

But for now in case you missed it, here are my top posts of 2021.

My Top 10 Posts of 2021 based on Views

1. 5 TRAVEL SHOWS I AM TOTALLY LOVING ON AMAZON AND NETFLIX

2021 still saw a lot of travel restrictions in place. Hence, I still needed to get my travel fix somehow and that was through watching a few travel shows throughout the year. In this post I shared my top 5 travel shows on Amazon and Netflix that I am very fond of and found entertaining.

2. WHAT TO DO IN PORT: ST. THOMAS, VIRGIN ISLANDS

I really enjoyed writing about St. Thomas and some of the sights you can expect to see and learn about on this beautiful island as it brought back a lot of memories. Need some sightseeing inspiration for your next cruise stop or island holiday? This post is for you.

3. CRUISE SHIP BAN – NO MORE CRUISE SHIPS IN VENICE

Last year saw some changes for cruise lines wanting to stop in Venice most likely accelerated by the pandemic. Here I’m giving you a bit of an overview what those changes exactly mean for anyone wanting to cruise to and from Venice as well as my personal view on this cruise ship ban.

4. WHAT TO DO IN PORT: MAHOGANY BAY, ROATAN ISLAND HONDURAS

Another one of my “What to do in Port” series posts has made it to the top 10 this year. This time it’s about Mahogany Bay. I enjoyed this port stop very much and always remember, there is more to these ports than you often think beyond going to the beach and shopping.

5. WHY TAKING ROAD TRIPS IS BETTER THAN FLYING

In 2020 I decided to drive all the way from London to Berlin instead of taking the plane due to the pandemic and it was an eye opener to what I could do and see by driving around. In this post you can read all about the advantages of road trips and why they can often be a better alternative to flying.

6. THE PALACE OF SANSSOUCI – WITHOUT A CARE

If you’re traveling to Berlin I first of all have to congratulate you for making a wise decision. I love my home town (totally biased here), but there’s so much around Berlin that is less known, but equally amazing, interesting and fascinating. If you love castles and palaces, make sure to visit Sanssouci as well as New Palace both located in Potsdam within walking distance and only a short train ride away from Berlin. Here is your intro guide of what you can expect of Sanssouci.

7. MY GO TO YOUTUBERS FOR TRAVEL INSPIRATION AND TIPS

Are you doing a lot of research before you book anything or decide on where to go? Then you’re like me. I often go to Youtube for travel ideas, advice and sightseeing inspiration. Here are my go to Youtubers that I refer back to over and over again.

8. CHARTWELL – THE FAMILY HOME OF SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL

I’m a member of the National Trust and luckily one of the properties they look after and which is not too far away from London is the family home of Sir Winston Churchill. I made a stop there back in 2019 to learn more about this famous man and to see for myself how he lived, which I wrote about in this post.

9. ELTHAM PALACE – FORGOTTEN ROYAL RESIDENCE AND ART DECO HEAVEN

And here we have another historic property, which you lot seemed to enjoy reading about 🙂 This time it’s an English Heritage site in London. If you’re ever around you can for sure work this one into your London sightseeing itinerary. It was not just a royal residence, but a family home decorated later in art deco style.

10. MY FAVOURITE THINGS THAT I DO IN THE USA

And last, but not least my post about all my favourite things that I do every single time I visit the US. Yes, every single time (if possible) as they sort of have become tradition.

PS: This is my bloganuary day 4 post, but I preferred to deviate from the prompt today. 🙂

    1. Ah thank you so much. 2020 and 2021 have been more like staycations, but it;s nice to explore the country you live in some more, too. I’m hoping to go abroad maybe towards the end of the year, finger crossed.
